Relationship Check-In Questions

You’ve probably heard that communication is key in relationships. It’s true. Specifically, getting curious and asking questions of your partner can help you learn about them and how you can foster connection between you.

Regular relationship check-ins can –
1. Prevent tension from building up to a hostile conflict,
2. Meet more needs for both you and your partner,
3. Build/rebuild trust in your relationship,
4. Ensure both parties are seen and heard
5. Teach your nervous system to feel safer because issues will be raised at their smallest stage

The following questions are for you to both ask each other, regularly.

  • How can I support you better?
  • What do you love most about our relationship?
  • Is there any thing that’s been bothering you that we haven’t discussed?
  • Are there any ways I can love you better in your love language?
  • How do you feel about our intimacy/sex life?
  • How do you feel about our communication?
  • What’s something I did in the past week that you appreciated, and why?

Give these a go with your partner, and see if you don’t learn something about them in the process!
