Relationship Counselling for Clear and Compassionate Communication
Learn communication skills, so more of your needs will be met and your conflict will lead to even GREATER connection.
Enjoy restored trust and reduced anxiety in your relationship.
How can counselling help me?
Do you get the feeling something needs to change in your relationship dynamic? Could you benefit from communicating more clearly and empathically with each other? Many couples I work with feel this exact way. My goal is to help you and your partner A. reconnect to yourselves and understand your own patterns, feelings and needs better, so that you can B. articulate your inner worlds to each other, and engage in the essential conversations needed to rebuild your connection.
Couples
Are you feeling disconnected from your partner? Do you need understanding and support from them?
With couples counselling, you can –
- Learn to communicate your feelings and needs to get the empathy and support you need from each other.
- Start doing conflict in ways that leave you feeling even more connected, seen and heard.
- Build your sense of self, so you can better narrate your inner world to your partner.
- Rebuild trust in the relationship as you learn to communicate clearly and respond to each other’s bids for connection.

For those with ‘Anger Issues’
Have your emotions felt out of control lately? Are you lashing out at work and at home? Are you worried about how this affecting your job and your partner? Don’t have anyone else to talk to about this stuff?
With counselling, you can –

- Learn to communicate your feelings and needs in your personal and professional life clearly AND compassionately.
- Learn how to be vulnerable with your partner in a powerful way, that creates greater connection.

About Me
My name is Rebecca and I am a trauma-informed counsellor based in Perth, Western Australia. My background is in international aid and development and disability support. I am a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (membership no. 27808).
You can expect three things from me –
- I am deeply empathetic in nature and will provide a peaceful and judgement-free space for you to be as messy as you need to be.
- I use a number of therapies including Schema Therapy and Attachment Theory to help you understand your behavioural patterns and their origins.
- I offer Nonviolent Communication skills as a way to better connect with yourself, discover your unmet needs, and narrate your inner world to others in ways they will hear.
What is Nonviolent Communication?
Our world is full of moral judgements. We judge ourselves for what we should/shouldn’t be doing and feeling, and we judge others for the same. These judgements are ‘violent’ language, they inhibit empathy and honesty in our relationships, and lead us to become more and more disconnected with ourselves. In my sessions I use Nonviolent Communication, which is an approach to life that encourages self-connection, in order to enhance communication, meet more of our needs, and create social change.
“Every criticism, judgment, diagnosis, and expression of anger is the tragic expression of an unmet need.”
― Marshall Rosenberg
